Briana completed her Masters in Creative Writing at the University of British Columbia in 2014 with a focus on Screenwriting. Her thesis supervisor was Peggy Thompson, and she completed additional screenwriting courses with Martin Kinch, Linda Svendsen, Rachel Talalay, Maureen Medved, as well as a Master Class with Hart Hanson.
In 2012, Briana was the recipient of the Jacob Zilber Award chosen by the faculty at UBC, for exceptional promise in screenwriting.
Her first feature script, Almost, Again, based on her award-winning play, received an Honourable Mention in the Vancouver International Women in Film Festival’s Screenwriting Competition. She is continuing to develop it with Alexandra Breede (Head of Production, Open Palm Films), who first optioned it during her time in the Producing Program at the National Film & Television School in London, UK.
She is a member of WIFT and a selected participant in the inaugural WIFT-Connect program.
